There has been considerable development around this building. This rather nice house is to be demolished and replaced with – yes, you’re guessed it! – more flats. Here is a full description of the proposal, from the application lodged with BCP Council:
Demolition of the existing building and construction of a block of five apartments and a commercial unit (Use Classes A1, A2, A3 or B1(a)), and a pair of semi-detached houses with associated parking and landscaping.
Not quite as characterful:
Obviously this is just the view form the street. Other images are available on the BCP site.
Highcliffe and Walkford council have objected. It is quite a lengthy document, also available online, but the opening part should give an idea:
The design and architectural appearance of the apartment block is extremely unattractive and does not enhance or reflect the visual aspect of Lymington Road.
It certainly is quite a change!
