Two of the major local festivals each year are in Christchurch, and then in Highcliffe. The Christchurch Festival takes place in May, the Highcliffe Festival two or three weeks later. Here are some pictures, and a little information about the Christchurch Festival. A larger version of some pictures can be viewed by clicking it (2000 x 1500px, opens in a new window).

Christchurch Food Festival
The Festival in 2018 took place on the weekend of 12-13 May. The pictures below were taken in the morning. It does become very busy.
This takes place on the weekend of 2nd-3rd June. Obviously it is smaller than the Christchurch Festival, but it is a very popular event and the road, which is closed for the event, is busy yet comfortable. Note that most pictures are not linked to a larger version.
TWO PICTURES AND A LINK FROM SATURDAY
This was even hotter than Saturday. The header picture was taken before the Festival opened at 10am: it would have been impossible to see the stalls even half an hour later, when it was already really crowded.

To conclude, a fun video outside Tesco. Yes, it was all happening in Highcliffe!
Some comments in the Christchurch Times, June 7:
Joby, one of the traders: Being a small business, these events are vital to keeping us going. Christchurch Food Festival and this event are our record-breaking events;
Richard: It is just a great chance to put Highcliffe on the map and showcase the businesses we have here already and the new ones that are coming;
Sharon: We are not local at the moment but we hope to be soon. We come here quite a lot. It is really nice to be able to come to a street event like this.
