This annual event is one of the major annual happenings in Mudeford. It is a great day out and brings people from far and wide. As well as entertainment, it also raises funds for the Mudeford Lifeboat, pictures below.

There were stalls, games and entertainments for all ages.
The raft race is one of the most popular events. It takes place in the harbour, with home-made and sometimes very flimsy craft.
The same day there was an article in The Echo, with over a hundred photographs.
The raft race was as popular as ever, with entries from local organisations and businesses. The harbour was quite choppy with the strong tide, which made it difficult for some of the vessels to get to the start. However, every cloud has a silver lining: the races themselves (two heats and a final) took place at some speed!
Afterwards there were demonstrations from the lifeboats and coastguard, and the helicopter flew as well. Finally, there was also a Spitfire flypast to round off the day.
